We have a partnership with Boyer Nurseries, based in Biglersville, Pennsylvania, in order to bring high quality, local fruit to our CSAs and markets.  Boyer practices, what is called Integrated Pest Management, an effective and environmentally sensitive approach that relies on a combination of common-sense practices. Those include using mechanical trapping devices, natural predators (e.g., insects that eat other insects), insect growth regulators, mating disruption substances (pheremones), and if necessary, as a last resort and in a minimum capacity, chemical pesticides.  We feel the quality of their fruit is far superior to what can be found in stores.
