Thank you for the lovely pre-CSA surprise. We will brunch on chive and spinach omeletes with arugula salad on the side. Elegant and delicious. Suzanna and Peter
I took the GRE's today. They are finally over and done with. I came home and cooked a scapes-squash dish which was absolutely delicious. All of the produce, in my opinion, has been so tasty. Thank you so much for all of it. Rachel

I wanted to send you a photo of the canning bounty I got from the 30-ish lbs of "less-than-perfect" tomatoes from Licking Creek. There are 5 quarts of tomato sauce infused with bsil from your farm, 6 pints of summer salsa - that also used some of your peaches, and 5 pints of fiesta salsa. Last summer I made about 6 pints of peach butter from slightly marred peaches from Licking Creek - so delicious!
Thanks again for all the wonderful produce! Take car, Tara

I took the GRE today and it is finaly over and done with, and I am more than happy to focus on CSA produce. I came back home from the exam today and immediately starated cooking the CSA vegetables that I have been neglecting for a few weeks. I am currently cooking a scape-squash dish which looks absolutely delicious. All of the produce, in my opinion, has been so tasty. Thank you so much for all of it.

I just picked up my CSA and what a wonderful experience to walk 4 doors down from my house with your catgreeting me in the driveway, picking my produce off your lovely porch, nicely laid out in bins with clear instructions. And the produce looks great! Ruth Anne

We love Mike's produce and the whole experience. Our toddler always wants to know now where we got something that we're eating, so being able to tell him that so many things came from "Farmer Mike" feels great. If there is another gathering at the farm we'd love it.

A friend forwarded me info on the CSA. I would like some details. I just took over a neighbor's CSA for two weeks and it was wonderful and I've felt so alert and happy. I can only deduce that this is because of the fresh food.

We are really enjoying the fresh fruits and vegetables we are getting every week from the CSA. I just wanted to share with you what my daughter said last night after tasting the delicious green beans we got yesterday. She said "If parents want their kids to eat more fruits and vegetables they should join a CSA!" I think that says it all. Have a great day.
Best,
Elizabeth
f this weekend’s farm share is indicative of what we can expect, all I can say is “WOW!!” Great quality, great selection. Thanks.

Esther and Michael,
We have one more jar of tomatoes in the freezer. We've been enjoying the fruits of your labor in stews, soups, and on pasta all winter. Thank you so much.

Hi, Esther:
I wanted to let you know that I've been very very happy with my CSA subscription this year and I want to make sure that I get a membership next year as well. I trust that you'll email all existing members in the early spring inviting us to subscribe?
(I know we have one week left, but I wanted to send this sooner than later!)
Thanks for a great year!

We were so worn out I decided to make Sunday night dinner in the middle of the day today, and at 2:00 pm the four of us sat down to a roast chicken with beets, potatoes, and garlic ginger greens... veggies all out of our box (potatoes form last week :). The boys ate and ate, nurturing their bodies and their souls on Licking Creek Bend Farm goodness.
Thank you and Michael for all you do.
Suzanna
Mike,
I wanted to write to thank you for the fantastic day at the farm on Sunday. We have been CSA members with the Takoma Park pick up for two years. It was good to finally take the trip that our farmer and our vegetables take on a regular basis. It's helpful to actually drive the food miles ourselves. We picked tomatoes which may be in our box tonight and marveled at the perfect little eggplants still growing on the plant, which will become my babaganoush in a few weeks. The experience, of course, always creates even more awe and respect for the work done by you and other small scale farmers committed to sustainable agriculture. Best of all, we did it with our children -- 2 and 5 years old. They started to get an understanding of where their food is coming from and what it takes to grow it.
The potluck was also lovely -- so much interesting food, almost all made from the fruits and vegetables from your farm. I appreciated hearing about your experience farming and hope to hear the whole story some time.
Finally, my family loved swimming in the creek. Tucked away, as the swimming hole was, it required some bush-whacking, which made the actual swim all the more exciting, especially for the children. There we were, surrounded on all sides by the woods, swimming in Licking Creek itself.
We look forward to coming again next year. Feel free to share this note with other CSA members so they can live vicariously through us and perhaps consider coming in the future.
Peace,
Lorig
Esther, (these folks pick up their box on bicycle!)
The veggies are well worth getting drenched for!
Thanks! I really enjoy all of the updates.

Just want to let you know how much I appreciate how much you and Michael
give to our community; and despite the craziness that has been my life
lately (a temporary state, I hope), the flavor, freshness, and vital life
energy present in the fruits and vegetables Sasha and I have been eating
thanks to you both has not gone unappreciated!
Catherine
As we try to convey every weekend, we very much appreciate the CSA structure, your excellent produce, and all of the hard work that goes into making the market happen. The food is excellent, and we're all delighted by the abundance and quality of everything we receive fresh from you each week.
Allison
We've certainly been enjoying the festival that arrives in our box every
Tuesday. I'm so much more aware of the changing seasons than I have been for a
long time. We've been spending more time cooking together, and eating better -
so it's a wonderful thing. Count on us for next year!
Anna
We experimented w/ a lot of new foods to use up the CSA goods. Some of my faves included tomato/cherry gazpacho, roasted tomatoes (easier than canning and so tasty to throw on as a condiment), blue cheese/walnut/roasted beet salad, braised cabbage and many others. We find it a labor of love to honor the veggies by using them up in tasty dishes each week. Thanks for making it possible! Laura
I had a delicious dinner tonight -- oven fried potatoes, garlic spinach, and Italian spaghetti squash (with red peppers) -- all from the CSA. I wanted to thank you again for consistent fresh, delicious, healthy, organic food for so much of the year. I appreciate all the work you put into the farm. I look forward to the spring! Lorig
